About Us:

UKABIF is a charity and membership organisation committed to raising awareness of acquired brain injury. We work to make a positive impact in the lives of people with acquired brain injury and their families and carers by influencing policy and raising awareness. Our members are a vital part of our success, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and highly organised Membership Co-ordinator to oversee and grow our membership base.

We have recently devised a new Membership Strategy and a key initial task for the Membership Co-ordinator will be to develop a complementary business plan.

 

Position Overview:

The Membership Co-ordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of our membership programme, including developing a membership plan which will maximise recruitment, retention, and engagement of members. This role will involve building strong relationships with current members, identifying new growth opportunities, and creating processes that enhance member satisfaction and involvement. The Membership Co-ordinator will also feed into developing communication and outreach plans that support the organisation’s mission and goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Recruitment & Retention:

·      Develop and implement a plan to grow the organisation’s membership base.

·      Plan and execute recruitment campaigns to attract new members.

·      Implement retention programmes to engage current members and minimise membership cancellations.

·      Ensure timely renewals and follow-ups with lapsed members.

 

Member Engagement & Support:

·      Act as the primary point of contact for members, providing excellent customer service and support.

·      Develop and oversee communication with members, including newsletters, updates, and invitations to events.

·      Develop and implement compelling language to increase philanthropic engagement by members

·      Gather feedback from members to continuously improve the membership experience. Manage annual membership survey.

 

Data Management & Reporting:

·      Maintain accurate membership records using the organisation’s CRM.

·      Regularly analyse membership data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.

·      Produce reports on membership metrics.

 

Membership Marketing & Communications:

·      Collaborate with the UKABIF’s communications functions to develop membership marketing materials and digital campaigns.

·      Craft targeted messaging and promotional content to encourage member engagement and acquisition.

·      Manage and update membership sections of the website.

 

Budgeting & Financial Oversight:

·      Work to ensure income targets are met.

·      Assist in setting membership pricing and membership category structures.

·      Explore new revenue opportunities through member donations, sponsorships, and special events.

 

Collaboration & Partnerships:

·      Develop partnerships with external organisations and businesses to offer added value to members.

·      Collaborate with internal functions (fundraising, communications) to align membership goals with overall organisational objectives.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

·      Proven experience in a membership role, preferably within a nonprofit or charitable organisation.

·      Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

·      Experience with CRM systems, databases, and email marketing tools

·      Ability to analyse data, monitor trends, and create actionable strategies for growth.

·      Customer-focused with a passion for building and maintaining relationships.

·      A self starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

·      A passion for the mission of UKABIF and a desire to make a difference.

 

Desirable:

•       Experience working in the nonprofit or charitable sector.

•       Knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies
