At the Royal Town Planning Institute (the RTPI), we champion the value of planning in building thriving places and communities. With over 27,000 members worldwide, we support planners at every stage of their career: raising professional standards, shaping planning policy, and proudly awarding chartered status, the highest professional accreditation in UK planning.
For over a century, we have empowered planners to deliver positive impact: creating healthy, inclusive, economically and environmentally sustainable places. As the voice of the profession, we advocate, support, and lead with purpose, professionalism, and passion.
We are looking to recruit a Professional Development Officer to replace the existing post-holder, who has moved to a different role within the RTPI. This role will suit an applicant with excellent customer/client service and support skills and experience of working in a membership body, institute or professional association.
In this role the tasks will include collecting, auditing and assessing CPD records of Members of the RTPI, in accordance with the requirements set out in the RTPI Code of Professional Conduct. It is also important that the process of feeding back to Members is supportive and professional, identifying learning points for those Members.
Applicants will need to have a good understanding of what makes lifelong learning provision successful and an understanding of how educational institutions operate in the UK. Please refer to the job description for full details.
The RTPI has a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment that actively operates a policy of helping its employees at all levels to achieve professional growth. We seek to foster a collaborative and respectful work environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
