Job Description
The Grain and Feed Trade Association, Gafta, is seeking to appoint an Arbitration Assistant to join its Arbitration Department. This role will report to the Arbitration Manager and will support the work of the Arbitration department through the administration of arbitration cases and general administration work within the Arbitration Service as allocated by the Arbitration Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Maintaining and managing all arbitration case files, ensuring the smooth running of each case
· Acknowledging receipt of all correspondence received in a timely manner and forwarding all correspondences and submissions to the Tribunals/Boards
· Sending of procedural orders from Tribunal/ Boards to the parties
· Setting up new cases and new appeals
· Sending of procedural letters
· Formatting Award of Arbitration (ad hoc)
· Responding to arbitration related questions and, when necessary, directing the individual to the relevant Gafta rule
· Maintaining spreadsheets for all actions on cases
· Answering telephone enquiries from Arbitrators or Parties and advising on the status of potential/pending/open/ issued cases
· Any other work as directed by the Arbitration Manager or General Counsel.

· Good academic record
Skills & Attributes
· Sound IT skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
· A keen eye for detail, the ability to prioritise and a logical approach to solving problems
· Be enthusiastic, possess confidence and able to maintain level headed in a pressured environment
· Excellent time management skills and reliability
· Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
· Organised and pragmatic approach to ensuring that things get done
· Ability to work alone and as part of a team
· A pleasant, confident and professional telephone manner
