Association of Electrical & Mechanical Trades

A.E.M.T. Limited (AEMT), the Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades, is looking for an Events Co-ordinator to run our annual Conference and Awards and our programme of member meet-ups. AEMT represents the electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering trades internationally, across more than 60 countries.

This role owns the AEMT Conference and Awards from planning through to delivery, with direct responsibility for growing delegate numbers, sponsorship and exhibitor revenue year on year. It also runs the calendar of member meet-ups that keep members engaged with AEMT between conferences.

Key responsibilities: Plan and deliver the annual AEMT Conference and Awards, from venue booking through to on-the-day delivery. Grow delegate attendance, sponsorship and exhibitor revenue year on year. Sell sponsorship, exhibition and delegate packages directly to members and suppliers. Co-ordinate speakers, suppliers and venue logistics, and manage the event budget. Plan and deliver a regular programme of member meet-ups, growing attendance over time. Promote the conference, awards and meet-ups across AEMT’s channels, including email, website and social media. Manage event budgets, supplier contracts and invoicing. Maintain accurate delegate, sponsor and exhibitor records on AEMT’s membership content management system.

What we’re looking for: Proven experience in a small trade association or membership body, having grown a conference and/or awards programme. Experience selling sponsorship, exhibition space or delegate places. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several events at once without close supervision. A confident written and verbal communicator, comfortable dealing with senior industry contacts, sponsors and volunteers. Experience producing marketing materials and event promotion copy. Comfortable working with budgets, suppliers and event administration. Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to work more efficiently, for example in drafting, research or day-to-day admin. Able to work effectively from home, managing your own time across a varied and self-directed workload.

Salary and benefits: £28,000 to £30,000, plus up to 6% bonus, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5% matched pension, healthcare package, and electric car lease and cycle to work schemes.
