Business Development Executive (Europe)

World Commerce & Contracting continues to experience significant growth and as a result, we are seeking a Business Development Executive in UK / Europe who should be confident with building new client relationships (increasing our membership), maintaining existing clients (building relationships with our current members to ensure membership renewals & engagement) with Global 500 Organisations and have experience in all stages of the sales cycle.

The responsibilities include:

  • Working with, engaging, and expanding the member community in the region
  • Proactive relationship building with prospective & existing members (B2B)
  • Deliver virtual & when appropriate, in-person community events
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline
  • Track metrics to ensure individual and team targets are achieved
  • Support the membership (client) setup and renewal process
  • Aid the World Commerce & Contracting’s Events Team with regional events management
  • Support marketing and communications plan delivery in the UK & Europe
  • Conduct membership webinars
  • Lead or support executive project work emanating from UK & Europe and other activities as identified.

Key Skills, Attributes, and Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and flexibility are essential for this role. As you would expect, the ability to meet revenue targets, build a pipeline, and quality work product is critical.

Strong communication skills, including verbal (face-to-face, telephone, and video) as well as written (emails, letters, and formal documentation), are required. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with our members, including senior executives around the world, as well as our internal international team. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, and other European languages would be desirable.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are essential. IT literacy is critical, as there are specific association management applications used.

The ability to work independently yet collaboratively as part of our international team is critical. World Commerce & Contracting is a global association with team members located all over the world. This means that some late evening or early morning calls via video or phone will be required. A genuine interest in contracting and the desire to get involved with the broader association are also needed.

Business Development Skills

  • Proven capability to proactively manage a sales cycle
  • Previous hunter experience
  • Experience in consultative and solution selling (Spin Selling techniques desirable)
  • Significant personal relationship management and influencing skills in a consultative sales environment
  • Overachieving against targets & KPIs
  • Successful track record of identifying opportunities
  • Experience in using a strategic understanding of the prospect, and products, to identify sales opportunities and be viewed as a trusted partner by the prospect
  • Experience in creating, developing, and writing proposals

Marketing Skills

  • Ability to use social media for engagement and an understanding of marketing to utilize the data
  • Ability to think strategically and develop go-to-market plans, with a willingness to develop high-quality tools, collateral, and presentations to execute your vision
  • Previous experience to c-suite, global 500 organizations, and multiple stakeholders within those organizations
  • Excellent ability to influence varying levels of seniority
  • Ability to work autonomously and successfully manage stakeholders with minimal supervision
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products at intermediate to advanced level
