My client is a membership based organisation looking for a proactive and commercially minded Business Development Manager to be responsible for the growth of the organisation. You’ll be creative and innovative, defining and refining the membership value proposition to build the acquisition pipeline across three sectors: individual, corporate and academic.
You’ll identify opportunities for growth in new markets whilst consolidating our success to date with strategies for increasing member’s engagement and retention. With an eye on the future of the sector you’ll build relationships with partner organisations and academia to drive growth in student membership, ensuring we embrace the next generations of professionals. You’ll help to ensure that the value proposition remains competitive so that we continue to be the professional partner of choice throughout their career journey.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the membership growth plans and make a real impact in shaping the organisation’s offering in meeting the changing and challenging demands faced by members within their disciplines.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience in a business development or sales role
• Excellent communication skills, with the influencing and negotiation skills required to engage with a range of stakeholders
• Knowledge and understanding of CRM systems, customer value proposition development and targeted automated communication.
The role requires the successful candidate to be present at exhibitions and conferences to promote awareness of the organisation and the membership benefits attached to belonging.
As a small organisation, you will be part of a close-knit team and must be capable of engaging with colleagues and members alike in a positive and energising fashion.
