Job Description

The Opportunity

The LSL Group has been retained to find a dynamic Commercial Director for one of our Clients – a long-established membership association based in the North West.

Reporting to the CEO as member of the Senior Executive Team, you will have responsibility for the full commercial remit across the organisation.

This is an ideal position for an ambitious individual seeking to join a dynamic executive team and contribute strategically as well as tactically to the performance of the organisation. Ideally, you will be located within commutable distance to the office in Knutsford although our client will be flexible around working arrangements. Your first three months will be based permanently from the office in Cheshire and thereafter for a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. You must be able to travel extensively within the UK.

As Commercial Director your key responsibility will be to drive the recruitment and retention of members. You will motivate and lead the teams responsible for Sales, Membership, Marketing, Training, Sponsorship Opportunities and Operations. You will also play a strategic role, working with the CEO and Board members on the direction of the organisation.

Desired Skills and Experience

This position will suit commercial individuals with a proven track record of building and leading dynamic and successful B2B sales and marketing teams. Your experience will have been gained in SME sized businesses where you have played a hands-on role. It is preferable that you will have experience operating within a membership organisation.

Personal characteristics 

A self-starter, strongly commercial in approach, you will also have excellent leadership, organisational and communications skills. You will be a strong and confident communicator who is able to gain the buy-in from your team and to prioritise activities to maximise positive outcomes and commercial success. Above all you will be a great leader who can get your team firing on all cylinders.

Remuneration

Our Client is offering a base salary of circa £65,000 plus car allowance, bonus and benefits.
