What you will do
Work with the Membership Development team to execute CIBSE’s membership acquisition strategy, with the goal to grow membership year on year.
Support the Senior Membership Development Manager and Stakeholder Manager in growing B2B membership through key companies. This includes but is not limited to:
o Verifying member eligibility, qualification checks and mapping routes to membership
o Producing quotations
o Using the CRM (Salesforce) to record member data, process bulk uploads, generate invoices and reports
o Deliver in-company presentations (remotely or in-person), promoting CIBSE membership and educating individuals on their routes to Professional Registration
o Engaging, following up and supporting the individuals within the companies with queries regarding their membership applications
o Support the Membership Development team to prospect for new business through the various prospecting avenue streams.
o Schedule in and host B2B development meetings with new and existing CIBSE contacts to assist Membership Development Team.
o Deliver membership presentations in companies (remotely or in-person) and UK regional and overseas markets promoting membership and encouraging upgrades to corporate CIBSE membership.
o Host and deliver the monthly CIBSE Membership Webinar series, educating individuals about the routes to membership.
o Promote entry level membership and the routes to professional registration (EngTech, IEng, CEng) to existing non-registrants and non-members.
o Provide information and guidance to prospective members and enquirers by telephone and email.
o Systematically and regularly follow up, engage and convert leads into membership via phone campaigns and email.
o Attend CIBSE events, conferences and exhibitions.
o Record all activity on the CRM database including inputting potential members’ information.
o Selecting members who are likely to upgrade and monitor existing member data for follow up actions. Produce statistics and progress reports on membership growth and retention.
Awards
Manage and promote the Ken Dale Award: an annual travel bursary awarded to graduates.
Act as the main liaison between judges, students, and companies etc.
Answering any questions relating to the process and adhering to deadlines.
General Membership Tasks
Answer queries on Membership and registration by email and phone.
Provide assistance across the department when required and support the work of the Strategic Projects team.
Other duties as may be reasonably required and are in keeping with the nature of the role.
Interactions
Internal
Work in a team which provides support for the Institution’s membership growth and development and liaise with the Membership and Registration, Networks and Engagement and Marketing teams as appropriate.
External
Provide advice and information to both individuals and Engineering/Construction companies to promote membership growth and retention with a particular focus on membership development.

What you will need to be successful
Essential
Excellent presentation and communication skills to all levels .
Experience of working in a membership/customer focused environment, dealing with enquiries with tact and diplomacy .
Self-motivated and ability to use own initiative.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a variety of projects and tasks at one time.
Ability to work to tight deadlines with good personal organisation and time management skills.
Experience of giving accurate advice via telephone and email.
Ability to build and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
Desirable
Educated to degree level.
Experience of working in a professional membership organisation.
Demonstrable experience in executing membership development plans.
Skilled at developing reports in Salesforce.
