The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.
As part of the College’s Member Services and Engagement team, the Membership Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the overall programme, planning, delivery, management and development of flagship membership engagement activities to ensure members place a high value on their RCGP membership.
We are looking for a vibrant, exciting and confident leader who is passionate about delivering an excellent member experience across the full membership journey. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting, well-organised individual with strong people management experience and an ability to initiate and embed new and innovative ideas to drive membership engagement.
In this dynamic role you will be line managing three people and will manage a budget of circa £300k. You will also be expected to attend high-level meetings with key stakeholders and feedback sometimes complicated and sensitive information to colleagues in a timely fashion.
The role is both strategic and hands on, with the ability to create a vison and support a team to see it through. With Members at the heart of everything we do, this post will be responsible for embracing and delivering on several strategies such as Our Member Value proposition, the RCGP strategic plan and the 2023-26 EDI strategy.
This is a varied role that will suit an enthusiastic and proactive person who is keen to get involved in a variety of different tasks, who has passion for high quality and impactful outputs and is able to work as part of a diverse and highly motivated team.
The successful candidate will share our corporate values. In return, the College offers excellent terms and conditions.
