About the Role

– Reporting to the Networks and Engagement Lead, working within the IoD Relationship team as the link between IoD members and internal departments, supporting IoD volunteers to provide activities within various member communities such as Regions and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) maximise member knowledge of, and access to, benefits.
– Assist on activities directing IoD members to benefits, encouraging the retention of existing IoD members and driving membership growth.

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide effective and frequent communication with members and volunteers, maintaining an up-to-date and in- depth knowledge of the IoD’s value proposition and related activities, products and services towards membership engagement and retention.
– Work with Membership Operations, Events, IAS and Acquisitions teams in order to maintain effective end-to-end membership acquisition and retention processes.
– Liaise regularly with assigned regional volunteers encouraging and supporting engaging member events.
– Support volunteer leadership teams for assigned special interest groups (SIGs) through meetings and presence at SIG events.
– Update and maintain membership records on the IoD CRM.
– Assist the Networks and Engagement Lead with ad-hoc tasks and projects, as required.
– Contributing to the review of all administrative processes for efficiencies and improvements.
– Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably allocated.

 

Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified, or alternative suitable career experience.

Knowledge:

  • A general understanding of business, membership organisations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of operational and administrative processes and procedures.
  • Competency in general financial procedures.
  • Awareness and understanding of GDPR rules.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working within a membership
    management/customer care environment.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills, including the ability to work efficiently and on own initiative in a hybrid working environment, with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and engagement skills, with a desire to provide potential and existing members with a high-quality experience of the IoD.
  • Experience of working with CRM systems and databases.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate confidently and build relationship with stakeholders, members and volunteers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to convey messaging at all levels and across a range of media.
  • Good project management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Skilled in use of CRM and databases.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to demonstrate the IoD’s key values of Teamwork, Leadership Agility and Respect, as well as the IoD’s core behaviours of Connect, Develop and Influence.
