The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is the world’s only professional accountancy body to specialise in public services. Our mission is to be a leader in public financial management within public services both in the UK and around the world. We achieve this by setting standards and helping teams and individuals: develop new skills, access expert advice to deliver best practice.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are not distinct areas of focus within our mission, but rather they underpin all of our values and help advance what the Institute wants to achieve. As such, our programme of work will include both stand-alone diversity and inclusion focused activity and changes to embed an equitable and inclusive approach in all our operations.

CIPFA prides itself on being a forward-looking, progressive voice for change. We are a modern organisation committed to continual reflection and growth to provide an inclusive environment for all of our employees. We believe that only by embracing diverse talents and perspectives, keeping focus on the potential of individuals and enabling our colleagues’ success, will we come a more inclusive, equitable force for the sector.

As representatives of the public sector, we strive to reflect the diverse society that our members and partners serve and will use our convening power in the sector to amplify the principles of diversity and inclusion and data monitoring and analysis.

We are looking for an ED&I Manager to join us and further develop and oversee the organisation’s EDI action plan to improve the diversity and inclusivity of our membership and the wider public finance community.

The role will focus on leadership and internal engagement, external advocacy, attraction and early outreach, membership appointment, membership inclusion and progression.

The individual will encourage and guide every team across the organisation in prioritising the actions they take, identifying progress indicators or targets.  They will ensure there is coordination across the organisation and monitor and report progress against the Action Plana and refine as necessary.

The role will work closely with the Chief of Staff and HR department to focus on internal and external facing strands of CIPFA EDI work.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working on EDI initiatives, is able to communicate the benefits of our action plan well via a range of means and can engage a large number of members.  Being able to demonstrate experience of developing and delivering interventions to deliver change will be important.  You will need to be able to build effective working relationships and feel comfortable in constructively and positively influencing change at all levels of an organisation and stakeholders.  Having experience of a membership or voluntary organisation and/or the public financial sector will be of benefit but not essential.

We are looking forward to hearing from you, if you would like to receive the fuller job description please apply for the role and we will forward this to you.

In return we offer:

· Participation in our 4-day working week pilot until July 2023! During the pilot you will work 30 hours per week and receive current full-time salary. We’ll talk to you at interview about the CIPFA 4-day week and what that means for this role

· 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays

· Flexible working and leave options

· Up to 10% employer’s pension contribution
