We’re looking for a proactive Business Development Officer to drive growth and partnerships at a-n.

About the role

As our Business Development Officer you’ll work closely with our Deputy Director to deliver a new business development strategy that supports our strategic goals. You’ll lead on sales and income generation and contribute to the development of membership services. You’ll also develop new business partnerships and strengthen relationships with the Higher and Further Education sector.

This role requires a self-starter with motivation and initiative – someone who can identify opportunities, build relationships and drive revenue growth.

About you

  • Strategic: You spot opportunities and turn insights into action. You have experience in sales prospecting, market research and competitor analysis.
  • Detail-oriented: You’re well-organised and meticulous when managing multiple projects, tracking leads and reporting.
  • Persuasive: You’re a confident communicator with experience in income generation and sales.
  • Proactive: You take initiative, understand what makes a great partnership and are always looking for ways to grow revenue and engagement.
  • Connected: You have an interest in the arts and want to be part of an organisation that empowers artists to thrive.

Summary of terms

Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary:  £26,406 – £36,778
Pension: Access to workplace pension scheme
Annual Leave: 34 days p.a. (including statutory public and bank holidays) rising to maximum of 37 days relative to length of service.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
